What is proofreading?

Proofreading is the final stage of the writing process when a text is evaluated by a proofreader for mechanical correctness, such as grammar, punctuation, spelling, omitted words, repeated words, spacing and format, and typographical errors. Proofreading should only be carried out when all revisions and editing have been previously completed in a text. A client will receive a clean copy of the corrected text and a copy with corrections shown
